Eight novels related only to the fact that they are `dreams` of the director. Among them are a story about how the young Kurosawa falls into the picture of Vincent Van Gogh and is found there with the author himself. Also, stories about the victims of World War II and the apocalyptic paintings of the nuclear war. In one of the short stories telling about a fox wedding, a house against which is a hero - a little boy, is a Kurosawa’s memory about the house in which he lived in childhood. The whole film is largely autobiographical.
