Returning home from the war, Paul Saton accidentally meets a train with a beautiful girl who is going home from study. Having talked, he learns that she is pregnant from a married professor from college, and after a short thought agrees to appear before her despotistical father as a husband, in order to draw a moment of public deprivation of her honor for a while. Everything goes well to a wine holiday, during which they madly fall in love with each other and a whirlwind of feelings takes them to an incredibly wonderful country called `passion`. But the mind begins to win, returning them to reality, in which the floor must go home to his unloved wife.
