The film tells about Sonderkommandos - a unit consisting of Jews and worked in gas chambers. They helped to undress the prisoners, gathered values from them and pushed them in the stove. Later they laundered blood from the walls of the gas chamber and removed gold teeth and hair from the corpses. Those who refused were shot. After a 14-hour work, Sonderkommando members received good food, they were allowed to smoke, drink and read in quarters separate from other prisoners. Some also provided several additional months of life before they were also killed. The play by Tim Black Nelson is based on a story that occurred in one of the 13 existing Sonderkommando. And the only time in history the prisoners of the Jews decided on an armed uprising in order to save not their own, but other people`s lives.
