Two bandits travel around the American province, leaving behind numerous corpses. Once they find themselves in a quiet town Milbruk, Indiana. Tom Stall lives in this city, respected by all the owner of a small diner, and his family is a wife and two children, Jack and Sarah. Upon trying to arrest his diner, Tom Stall kills the bandits and becomes a local hero, television deliberately tells his feat. The next day, mysterious people appear in Milbruck, who for some reason call Tom by the name of Joe and ask him about Philadelphia.
