Walter Wale, a professor of economics from the Connecticut College, goes to New York for a conference on globalization problems. Since his wife died, Walter lost interest in life-he did not want to go to New York, but at the last moment he had to replace his colleague. Walter Wale`s life changes cool when in a New York apartment he discovers a couple of illegal emigrants-Syrians Tarek and Zainab from Senegal. They have nowhere to go, and Walter allows them to stay - until they find the right housing. Walter quickly finds a common language with Terek and establishes friendly relations, which are not too approved by the incredulous Zainab. But, be that as it may, it is to him that she turns for help when the Tarek was in the police. Tarek, as an illegal emigrant, faces deportation from the country, and Walter is the only one who can help. Then the mother of the Terek is also declared to Walter, and he has no other choice but to get involved in this matter, experiencing the whole `charm` of the immigration system of his native country.
