The 24-year-old Bobby, whom everyone is considered mentally retarded, the mother dies. The stepfather quickly takes the family business to his hands and begins to terrorize the stepson. He threatens to place him in a psychiatric hospital, kills his beloved mouse. Bobby does not stand it and runs out of the house. During wanderings, he meets a strange type named Mr. Summers, who hates people, but loves animals. Mr. Summers finds and bury the poor creatures shot down by cars on the highway. Bobby is ready to help him and even adopt the strange philosophy of the tramps, so Summers, at first evil and unsociable, allows the guy to stay in his shack. Here, in the forest, Bobby is much happier than in the city.
