There is a World War II, France is occupied by the Nazis. Harry Morgan lives on the island of Martinik, he owns a boat on which he carries rich customers to catch fish. Gerard, a participant in the resistance, with a request to secretly transport one of the leaders of the movement to Martinik, addresses Morgan. Morgan, who does not care about politics, refuses.
