Danny Embling is an outcast among students with a strict school for boys. He gets acquainted with Tandiv Adzhev, the daughter of an African teacher, who is serving his term in a nearby boarding school for girls. Danny and Tandiva become close friends, lovers and headache for their teachers, whose methods of educating and maintaining discipline are very reminiscent of prison. Only Nikola Radcliffe helps this couple, who, despite his approximate behavior and leading position, sympathizes with the lovers.
