Oliv is a little girl who dreams of winning the contest "Little Miss Happiness." Her family also wants Olive`s dream to come true, but they are so burdened with their own quirks, neurosis, and problems that can hardly help her. Father Oliv, Richard, almost does not communicate with her daughter, but only maintains a relationship with her mother. Her Uncle Frank, a famous scientist, tried to commit suicide after an unsuccessful novel with a male graduate student. Her brother Dwine, a fanatical follower of Nietzsche, took a vow of silence, which even more distant him from his family. Grandfather Oliv, although a drug addict, he is the only person in the family who is ready to help Oliv prepare for the competition. And everything will come down to the fact that the whole family will gather together and go to distant California so that Oliv can participate in the contest “Little Miss Happiness”.
