The second world. Occupied Paris. The society is split for the silent majority, invisible partisans, open collaborators and victims of the regime hiding from the Nazi reprisal. The latter includes Polish Jew Lucas Steiner, theater director and husband of the leading actress - Marion Steiner. With the risk for himself and the whole team, Marion decides to hide her husband in the basement of the theater, from where Lucas continues inspired, through his wife, to prepare a new premiere. Meanwhile, one concern after another falls on Marion: to secretly wear food into the basement (which, in conditions of total informing, turns into a whole art). spread rumors that her husband had escaped from the city.
