The veteran of the 2nd World War Ken paralyzed by a sniper bullet lies in the hospital. Ken is angry, he is all annoying. His girlfriend Ellen comes to his hospital, but Ken refuses to meet with her. Dr. Brock tries to break through the `psychological wall` of Ken. He manages to convince the veteran to start a program of physical exercises, with which Ken will learn to control wheelchair and drive a specially equipped car. Ellen shows perseverance. Soon Ken decides to marry her. But, despite the decision, the veteran is still devouring doubts, anger and pity for himself ...
