David Sumner is a young American mathematician who is tired of the chaos, going on in college where he taught. David wants to retire: together with his wife Amy, he moves to a new house on the coast in one of the towns of England, where Amy was born and raised. But life in a new place did not work out. David is busy with his research, Amy is boring, and she begins to flirt with local men. In addition, there is tension with neighbors who do not really like the brand new.
