The Second World War. The German submarine is torpedoing the ship. As a result, both vessels are drowning. The surviving passengers of the ship find themselves in a small rescue boat. The captain of the German submarine swims the last to a crowded boat. He is taken on board in the hope that he, as an experienced sailor, can bring the boat into a safe harbor.
