In the 40s of the 20th century, Alfred Blalock, a surgeon from God, committed a revolution in medicine. Working in one of the hospitals of Baltimore, he developed a methodology for saving children with congenital heart disease. His associate, an indispensable assistant and the best friend was the black laboratory assistant Vivien Thomas. Public opinion could not come to terms with this egregious fact, and in the end, not only their friendship, but also continued joint research was under threat.
