A strange person in black glasses is brought to the Manhattan Psychiatric Institute. He calls himself as a simplest and claims that his homeland is the distant planet Ka-Pax, from where he instantly transferred to the ground in the ray of light. Despite all efforts, experienced Dr. Powell cannot solve the mysterious patient who willingly and very convincingly proves his extraterrestrial origin and sets the date of his return to Ka-Pax. Soon, Mark Powell, who failed to reveal the secret of the personality of his most amazing ward, begins to disturb an incredible, but obsessive thought: maybe the prototype is not crazy and there is a share of truth in his words ...
