The Great Battle
Ansiseong
Lee Shimin, the Emperor of the Tang dynasty, after the defeat in 630, the East Tourk Kaganate decided to conquer the Coguro, one of the early coal states. The emperor’s conquering campaign was successful: the fortresses fell one after another, the Chinese army defeated the enemy’s infantry and cavalry. The defeated in one of the battles, General Yong, sends the cadet of Sa-Mul to kill the commandant of the fortress of Ansi traitor Jan Man-Chuna. In 645, Lee Shimin approached Ansi. Having an overwhelming numerical advantage, the emperor believed that taking the fortress is a matter of one day, but General Jan Man-Chong with a few soldiers of the Koguryo army would at all costs hold the defense of the Ansi fortress-the last line on the way to Pyongyan.
