Having settled in a rented apartment in San Francisco and starting to put things in order there, David suddenly meets an attractive young woman Elizabeth in her new dwelling, who assures him that she is the mistress of these apartments. When David begins to lean to the idea that some kind of misunderstanding had occurred, Elizabeth disappears just as suddenly and mysteriously as it appeared. Replacing locks does not stop the beauty: its mysterious appearance and disappearance continue to bring the confusion to the life of David. After making sure that she is a ghost, David tries to help her remain in the other world forever.
