The film tells about the filming of a historical film about the 1915 Armenians genocide. The impressions of the events of almost centuries -old prescription are changing the life of an eighteen -year -old young man working as a driver on the set of this picture. In parallel to the epic plot, in the film the history of personal relations of Ani - an art critic invited as a consultant to `Ararat`, her husband, imprisoned after an attempt on a Turkish diplomat and their children. Her adoptive daughter Clara does not believe that her father committed suicide and accuses Ani of his death.
