Brissak, an old notary and part -time veterinarian who loves both animals and drinks equally, a misanthropus and anarchist, lives in his country mansion with his wife, inconspicuous, quiet, accustomed to the oddities and whims of her husband. Brissak loves to bring stray dogs, dirty garbagemen, street girls to his house - in a word, almost all the unfortunate and homeless people who are found in the district.
