The history of the erotic experiences of a woman from birth to fifty years, told on behalf of the main character, a woman named Joe, who made herself a diagnosis - nymphomania. A cold winter morning Seligman, a middle -aged lone bachelor, stumbles in a lane on Joe, beaten and in a semi -conscious state. Having delivered the woman home, he considers her wounds and wonders how she reached such a life. Joe tells Seligman the story of his rich youth, repenting of parallel plots and unexpected retreats.
