In 1964, the French director Henri-Zhorzh Kluzo began working on the main project of his life. The film `L`enfer` (`Hell`) was to be a new word in the film aesthetics and reveal the unknown abysses of the madness and obsession of a person. The director wanted to tell not just the story of jealousy, but to take this ugly side of passion under the microscope, to study its irrational mechanism thoroughly, to reach the depths of the human soul and to open the ulcer of this merciless and uncontrolled feeling there.
