This is a story about two boys of 14 years old, Ellis and Nekobone, who accidentally meet during one of their walks, hiding on the island in the middle of Mississippi. His name is MAD: a knocked out tooth, a snake tattoo on his hand, a gun and a “happy” shirt. And MAD believes in love - this is exactly what Ellis needs to forget about the tense environment in the family. Soon they begin to repair the boat together, on which MAD plans to leave the island. However, the boys are not able to understand where the truth is, and where is the lie in the words of Mada. Did he really kill a man and now he is pursued by justice and reward hunters? And who is this mysterious girl who arrived in their small town in Arkansas?
