The film is based on real events from the life of Andre Stander, a South African policeman who once committed the murder of rebellious blacks. After this brutal reprisal, his life accepts a steep turn: unexpectedly he makes a large banking robbery. Getting torn between guilt and the attitude of society to him (which once took him for a national hero), Studder again comes to the police, but now as a famous criminal.
