The plot of the film is built around the adventures of a musical group of distant Siberia, who came to America in search of success. The musical group from Russia is played by the Finnish team of Sleepy Sleepers, which shortly after the release of the film also changed its name to Leningrad cowboys. They perform their versions of famous rock and roll hits such groups as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, Steppenwolf and Elvis Presley.
