In the center of the plot, Cheryl Streid, crushed by the failed marriage and death of his mother and who lost all hope for happiness, goes to the Pacific Crest Trail on foot-a route along the highest sections of the Sierra Nevada and St cascading mountains. The trials that have fallen in this dangerous single journey to the share of the heroine inevitably heal her from mental suffering, but this process will be by no means painless.
