Scott Carey, swimming in a boat, falls into a mysterious radioactive fog, and soon realizes that a strange and frightening turn occurred in his life. He begins to decrease literally before his eyes, and gradually his height reaches almost two inches. And suddenly, quite ordinary everyday household situations turn around for him completely insoluble and even dangerous tasks for life: a playful kitten becomes a terrible demon, and Spider is a giant monster. Carey realizes that he can only count on his own quick wits if he wants to survive in a new, too big world for him.
