Sister Elozius, a harsh school director and ardent defender of monastic traditions, is faced with the choice of her whole life: or she will show her fear and openly accuse the priest of insulting the African American student, or she will conceal her suspicions and doubts. Especially when something more serious can be hidden behind a possible insult. This is a deep, personal struggle between sister Elozius and Father Flynn eventually develops into a question of faith and justice in the shadow of a solitary, “closed” church organization.
