The life of Jerome, a middle -aged intellectual, is completely subordinate to the mind, not the heart. French diplomat, he is engaged to a woman he loves, but to whom he does not feel passion. During the rest in the outskirts of the French Alps, where his childhood passed, he meets a friend of youth - writer Aurora, who introduces him to a 14 -year -old Laura, holding a vacation here. Zheroma amuses the feeling that Laura begins to show him until he himself begins to feel a strange feeling for her sister - Claire. But he puts his passion into a form in which he can keep it under control: temptation for him - touch her knee.
