Longfello Deds, a village from Vermont, inherits the enormous condition of his uncle and becomes known to the whole country in one night. The whole town gathers at the station to hold Dida, a poet playing on a pipe, in New York, where he must take possession of uncle capital and move to a huge mansion. The cynical newspaper Macueide does not believe in the image of a simple honest person created by Didu in the press. He entrusts the beauty Babe Bennett to take an interview from the guy and gives her unambiguous instructions. The journalist pretends to lose consciousness at the entrance to the mansion.
