In December 1937, Japanese invaders joined the city of Nankin. Many soldiers of the Gomintan left the city, but many who did not want to give up, remained in the city and launched strong resistance. After an unsuccessful resistance, hundreds of thousands of people died, turning Nanjing into a city of death.
