Seventy -three -year -old Alvin Straight, who has been living in recent years, along with a hollow daughter in a quiet provincial town, has settled to see his older brother Lilah, who survived a heart attack. Elvin buys a used lawn mower (he does not have rights to drive a car) and sets off in two states. He will find random roadside acquaintances, the help of good people and, finally, a meeting with his brother.
