New York, 1799. Ikaboda Crane, a young constable, send a sleepy hollow to an investigation of mysterious murders in a place. All the victims, according to the local population, die from the sword of a horseman without a head. All of them are beheaded, and the heads disappeared. Crane has to make sure that this is not a legend, but a terrible truth. It becomes obvious that the killer comes from the other world that the witch and other evil spirits are involved in crimes. The horseman cannot be killed by a bullet, he wins all daredevils in contractions. But what are the motives of the atrocities? ..
