Alternative reality corresponding to the beginning of the 20th century. In the hands of a girl named Sita is a flying stone. Government agents and pirates are hunting for it, because the stone is of great value. Trying to hide from the pursuers, Sita meets Padzu, her same age as working in a mining town. Together, children find out that the stone is the key to the mysterious flying island of Laput.
