The story of forbidden love in America of the 17th century is the beautiful Esther and the Monk Arthur. Strict Puritan morals are opposed to lovers and especially the fact that Esther De Jure is married, although he considers her husband to die in the way to the colony. When her illegitimate relations are revealed, Esther resolutely refuses to betray her lover and she is sentenced to her - forever carry the scarlet letter A - “stigma” of adultery on her chest.
