The head of the police department of a small resort city, Mattias Lee Witlock, upset that his wife is leaving him, is an affair with a married woman Ann Morai Harrison. Soon he learns that his new girlfriend is sick with cancer, and her husband, apparently, wants to get a very large insurance for his wife`s death.
