The usual world of William Handert, a professor of classical literature, fanatically devoted to his work, collapsed with the advent of a new student named Sedzhvik Bell in his class. The initial strict confrontation of characters gradually develops into close relations of the teacher and student, who suddenly turn around for the Handert with a strong life lesson, pursuing him a quarter century later.
