Jacob`s childhood passed under the stories of grandfather about the shelter for unusual children. Among his inhabitants, a girl who knew how to hold fire in her hands, a girl whose legs did not touch the ground, an invisible boy and twins who knew how to communicate without words. When grandfather dies, 16-year-old Jacob receives a mysterious letter and goes to the island where his grandfather grew up. There he finds children, whom he used to see only in photographs.
