1915. Two Armenian brothers Aram and asatures have not seen each other for 20 years and dream of a meeting. One of them, a successful doctor, emigrated to Venice, and married an Italian countess, the other - a landowner in the small city of Anatolia, where he respects and love not only an influential Armenian community, but also by the local Turkish authorities. Asatur and his family are going to leave Venice to Anatoly. Aram is preparing for the solemn meeting of his brother. He restores the old villa, called the lark nest. There they were born and raised, played, grew up and learned to resist life difficulties. But their meeting is not destined to happen. The First World War begins. Italy closes its borders, and Turkish troops receive an order to destroy Armenian families.
