America of the 30s, great depression is in full swing. People spend their free time in vain search for work or just go to look for happiness at the hippodrome. The bets are low, but there are a lot of them ... A dark horse appears at the local hippodrome: small, ridiculous and, it seems, not suitable for racing. Her Jocheus Red Pollard is a blind champion in super-lightweight. Her coach is Tom Smith, a former circus strongman nicknamed `Mustang destroyer`. And the owner of the horse is Charles Howard, a man who later established vehicles of cars throughout Western America. But so far the whole country is watching with lively interest the climbing of the favorite. After all, a nondescript horse with a half -season rider will be able to overtake the invincible favorite of the race of the military admiral, and achieve the title `Best Horse` of 1938.
