The coach of the Baseball team "Darham bulls" invites Crash Davis, an experienced player, to the role of a mentor for a young but talented Abby, who lacks practice to become a real star. A team fan, having a habit of twisting novels with players, is trying to “hook” Davis, but he turns out to be impregnable. But this does not stop Annie, and she puts the ward Crash into the bed.
