Aushwitz, 1944. Saul Auslander - Jewish captive and member of the Sonderkanda. His work is to accompany the prisoners who arrive at the camp incessantly on a short path. Then - clean the traces of their presence and wait for new ones. Among thousands of people passing through a gas chamber, one survives for a matter of minutes. Saul recognizes his son in him and decides at all costs to bury the body according to all the rules. Now this is his only goal in the molten, so unlike life, Pekla of Death Camp. To protect the body from the furnace, to hide it, to find the rabbi - the tasks are practically impossible and crazy against the background of a meat grinder, whose millstone has to twist yourself in order to survive. An uprising is ripening in the camp, Saul becomes too vulnerable, but he thinks only of his son ... which, perhaps, he never had.
