After the mysterious disappearance of Tom Gruneman, his close friend, a private detective John Klut, begins his own investigation. The main evidence in the case is the testimony of "call girls" Bree Daniel. Proud and self -sufficient, Bree refuses to cooperate with John, but agrees to help him, feeling a threat to his life. Someone pursues her for several days, and in the evenings he calls on the phone and is silent into the phone.
