On the western coast of England, a lonely lady Ellis Drasble dies. Young lawyer Arthur Kidd comes from London to her funeral to make out the paper of the deceased. Kidd has no idea what terrible secrets are stored behind the rickety windows of the old house. But having met at first at the funeral, and then in the cemetery a young woman dressed in black, he begins to worry. Who is she?
