New York, autumn 1991. Military photojournalist, winner of the Pulitzer Prize Harrison Lloyd leaves for Yugoslavia to illuminate a `small mess of local significance`. This task should be his last business trip to the war zone. He can no longer shoot the horrors of war and dreams of devoting himself to the family. To his wife Sarah Harrison promises to return to the birthday of his son. But he does not return, disappearing without a trace in North Croatia. Harrison is officially declared the dead.
