A major official at the Hollywood film studio Gryffin Mill is vested with the right to decide which of the proposed scenarios to launch in production. He has hundreds of enemies, because most projects are forced to say `no`. Someone begins to intimidate it, tossing threatening notes. Griffin is nervous and in a fit of rage commits an absurd murder of a innocent playwright. He converges with the widow of the murdered person, an avant-garde artist and tries to solve two difficult tasks: to avoid punishment for a crime and preserve the leading chair that has staggered as a result of studio intrigues.
