One fine day, a whole series of troubles collapses on a middle -aged professor of literature Grady Tripp (Michael Douglas): a wife leaves him in the morning. In the afternoon, his publisher comes to him (Robert Dauni-Ml.), For seven years, vainly waiting for the completion of his new opus.
