On the eve of the Christmas of 1914, four people survived the unforgettable. The Scottish priest, the French lieutenant, the German tenor and his lover were in the very heart of the spontaneous fraternity that arose between the trenches of the Germans, the British and the French. The guns were left at the bottom of the trenches, and the soldiers and officers themselves came out to meet each other to exchange cigarettes, share chocolate and wish each other: “Happy Christmas!”
