After several years of rise, the brilliant quarry of the rock star of Dewey Finn ends with a complete failure. All that awaits him now is unpaid debts and severe depression. But, having intercepted the phone number that was not intended for him and getting amazement from the salary ($ 650 a week), Dewey sets up to work in a private school. His attitude to music and children works miracles there, and soon there is an opportunity to start a star career again.
