Terry grew up in hellish cuisine, a small Irish quarter in the western part of Manhattan. Returning to New York after a ten-year absence, he meets his best childhood friend Jackie, whose brother Frankie became the boss of the Irish mafia, and his sister Kathleen, the first love of Terry, turned into a charming woman. Not fully trusting Terry, Frankie still instructs him with Jackie to extort tribute from local merchants. Nobody knows that Terry is a policeman working undercover. And Terry painfully breaks between friendship with Jackie, love for Kathleen and the need to fulfill his duty, hidden Frankie in jail.
