The story of Faust, the person who sold the soul to the unclean, is represented by the outstanding Czech multiplier Jan Schwankmeier. It turns the well -known myth of Faust into a surrealist mixture of animation and hyperrealism, in which living actors, clay dolls and giant puppets act. The hero of Schwankmeyer wanders through the narrow streets of Prague with a mystical map in his hands. The labyrinths of the streets bring him to an abandoned attic, where he finds the old puppet theater and `Faust` Goethe in the middle of the room. He tries on Faust`s costume and gets used to his image. Starting like innocent fun, his journey turned into reality, and the hero found himself in the laboratory of the famous alchemist ...
